As a school, we welcome our duties under the Equality Act 2010. The Governing Body’s policy is to provide education fairly to all pupils within the school and to give equal treatment to its employees, pupils and members of the community regardless of their age, disability, marital status, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin.

The Governing Body promotes the elimination of discrimination and complies with all relevant Equalities legislation. We believe that promoting Equality is the whole school’s responsibility. All Governors, employees and those acting on behalf of the Governing Body or school are responsible for implementing the policy and have a continuing duty to challenge all forms of discrimination.

You will find our Single Equality Policy and Equality Objectives here

At the end of each year, the school produces an Annual report for Governors, that details our  compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty.

Financial Benchmarking

Please click her to read the School’s Financial Benchmarking data. This allows our stakeholders to compare our school’s income and expenditure with similar schools in England.

We have no staff at our school who earn a gross annual salary of over £100,000.

The school underwent a very successful SIAMS inspection in October 2023 and a successful OFSTED in February 2026.

At the end of each academic year, the Governors ask Parents to give their opinion with regards to the provision at St Botolph’s Primary School. Parent’s views about the school are important to us. The Governors and staff are constantly striving to make St Botolph’s the best place for your child. We are interested to know what you think is good about the school, as well as anything that you would like to be improved. The PE and Sport Premium is additional funding that is given to schools for the purpose of improving the provision of PE and Sports for the benefit of pupils and to give them the opportunity to develop a healthy lifestyle.

Please see the reports below which detail the funding received , how it has been spent at our school and the impact it has had over the last 3 years:

We pride ourselves on the extensive range of further sporting opportunities for our pupils. Throughout the year, there are many and varied opportunities for children to represent the school in Inter-School competitions. We aim to enter every event possible and to involve as broad a range of pupils as possible to take part.

Swimming

For the academic year 2024-2025 using some of the premium to provide additional booster sessions for those children in UKS2 who could not swim the expected 25m, resulted in 58% of our Y6 children achieving this NC expectation. This was lower than in previous years as unfortunately a number of sessions had to be cancelled due to issues at the pool.

The pupil premium is additional funding that is given to schools to address the inequalities between children who have previously, or are currently eligible for free school meals.

The aim of the funding is to close the gap in both attainment and progress between those students eligible for pupil premium and their peers.

Please see the reports below which detail the funding received and how it has been spent at our school.

We look forward to an exciting year of continued school improvement, making our school even better for our children, staff and parents/carers.

Our School Improvement Plan always reflects our key priorities identified following *OFSTED (Nov 2021); SIAMS inspection (Oct 2023) and areas identified through our own self-evaluation (ongoing), end of year review and Governors strategic plan. It also includes shared collaborative priorities of the BeSkilled group of schools.

This year some of the actions are continuations of actions started in 2024-25 that need to be fully embedded/developed further.

Here is our School Improvement Plan for 2025-26 as agreed by the governing body.

School Performance means a lot more to St Botolph’s than how children achieve in standardised tests. While these are clearly important, progress is key, and our children make great strides from their individual starting points, both academically and personally.

  • The 2024- 25 KS2 statistics cover the attainment of year 6 pupils who took assessments in summer 2025. These pupils experienced disruption to their learning during the pandemic, particularly as they started in Key Stage 2. We are very pleased with the results, these are some of the best results for our Year 6 cohorts, especially considering the disruption to their learning.
  • Considering the high perecentage of SEND pupils in our FS – Y2 year groups, we are also very pleased with the 2024-25 end of Year 2 results, our Y1 phonics and the increasing perecntage at the end of EYFS achieving GLD (Good Level of Development)
  • Areas where we are not achieving at least in line with the national picture, these are priority areas for action on our School Improvement Plan.
